Too fast, too close…
Or another brake checking bonehead?
Its a fair point, straight stretch of road, good visibility, riders head height most likely above car, must have been an abrupt stop, or brake failure, why didnt the rider move to the right, oncoming car doing a bodged overtake? Who knows.
No skill yet. Need to switch on. I no I learned the hard way.keep back.
There needs to be stricter speeding rules on the island.
10.30pm this evening saw a Numpty speeding motorist
Speeding through 20mph Brading High Street,
must have been doing 60mph – 70mph
Speed Camera’s plus more traffic Police is needed on the
Roads.
Car driver’s fault for being on the road
Drivers are turning back from Firestone Copse so that does not seem like an alternative plan. Why weren’t diversion notices placed at the bottom of Wootton? Or is that too logical?
Binstead hill and Quarr Hill are race tracks for motorcycles. Like it or not it is mostly motorbikes going far far in excess of the speed limit. Needs policing urgently.
Yeah sure thing yan lol
I hear it night and day. Sorry but it is happening.
Sorry I live in binstead and I don’t see that at all .Think you’re making this up because you don’t like motorcycles and none of you know what happened so don’t comment
Tailgating, Stop it….
Highway code says you can not cut down / modify the L plate. Although the one in the picture is better placed than most learners have. This looks like the bike that has a pillion on at the weekend. Another thing you can not do on an L plate.
In my experience, when people play silly little games with the rules, they are hiding more significant issues. Just can’t help attracting attention. But without specially trained bike police these ‘minor’ issues will not get checked allowing the bad road manors to escalate to the point they crash into the back of a car.
As a motorcyclist it p***s me off with the people treating the roads as a race track and making all bikers look bad. Time we have the bike police back on our roads.
Yes Fred, and I’m sure you are one of these old wide bikers with a straight pipe Harley Davidson that’s disgusting loud but you go under the ridiculous statement of “loud pipes save lives” grow up
Have to say, and you will get stroppy but my loud exhaust has roused a few ‘dosing doris’s’ at the wheel.
Now put your dummy back in, there there.
Correct me but you can have a pillion if they have a full bike licence. You defo could in my day
Not now you can’t.
Island roads needs to make the road closed sign more specific if coming from Newport , motorists are ignoring it?! Should read road closed except for Fishbourne ferry , no wonder there’s been a crash , these muppets can’t read !
Road still closed 3 hours later, why?
Due to cutback they have laid off all sign collectors
Why was it even closed in the first place.? Bung the bike in the ditch, send the car on its way… sorted.
Its a serious so needs investigating, it is a potential crime scene so could be closed for several hours.
Hope rider recovers and the driver is not to traumatised.
I agree.Absolute disgrace to close a major road for so long for what looks like a minor shunt.
So somebody with serious injuries in your view is a minor shunt, i guess then if you were involved you wouldn’t want any further action taken then, do me a favour.
Too many D’Head Motorcyclists on the island.
Another D’Head will be along shortly
Lots of dhead comments lots of d head car drivers to
