Cowes-based Joe Ramskill is not only a full-time Service Technician at SeaSafe Systems – he’s also a dedicated martial artist who has earned national recognition in the sport of Taekwondo.
Joe, who holds a 4th Dan black belt, has trained for the past 15 years at Isle of Wight Taekwondo under the instruction of 6th Dan Master Pete Scotcher.
His commitment and skill have taken him all the way to the UK-TKD National Squad, where he now serves as Vice Captain.
Taekwondo, Joe says, has taught him discipline, resilience, and the drive to continually improve – values that shape his daily life both on and off the mat.
Thanks to the support of his employer SeaSafe Systems, the encouragement of Master Scotcher, his mainland coaches Master Roger Lawrence and Grand Master Clive Harrison, and travel support through his Red Funnel Ambassador role, Joe has been able to travel regularly to the mainland for competitions and weekend training. That dedication has delivered results.
In 2025 alone, Joe has claimed a total of 19 medals: 3 gold, 3 silver and 13 bronze.
Each podium finish reflects not just his personal efforts, but the community of supporters who have helped him pursue his passion at the highest level.
Isle of Wight Taekwondo continues to train students of all ages and abilities locally.
