Cowes Harbour Commission has today (Monday) named Hampshire-based Horizon Publishing Ltd and Cowes-based editor Helen Fretter as the media team to take on the publication of the annual Cowes Port Handbook.
The new team will oversee a series of exciting developments for the Port Handbook, with the 2016 edition moving to a larger format that will allow greater scope for original editorial content, engaging lifestyle features, and an improved platform for advertisers.
Capt. Stuart McIntosh, Cowes Harbour Master, said:
“The Cowes Port Handbook has been produced for almost 20 years now and I very much look forward to working with our new publishing and editorial partners to market Cowes Harbour and the River Medina for the benefit of its stakeholders, and to promote Cowes as a destination.”
Helen Fretter of True Angle Editorial, a Cowes-based communications professional who specialises in marine publications, will manage the editorial content for the Cowes Port Handbook. Helen added:
“I welcome the opportunity of working closely with many of the specialised and innovative local businesses we have here in Cowes. The new format for the Handbook will allow for more in-depth feature material, as well as clear and comprehensive information for visiting sailors.”
Horizon Publishing Ltd will soon be commencing advertising sales for next year’s Cowes Port Handbook, with content designed to promote the harbour, Cowes and East Cowes to leisure visitors, as well as providing an essential reference tool for local residents and harbour users.
