Residents at Old Charlton House in Cowes have raised over £100 for charity by hosting a Macmillan Coffee Morning, with family, friends and staff all coming together to support the event.
The popular annual fundraiser saw residents joined by loved ones for a relaxed and cheerful morning filled with sweet treats, warm drinks and generosity. A wide selection of homemade cakes was served, including a much-loved coffee and walnut creation from chef Leigh that proved so popular it quickly disappeared.
Linda, daughter of resident Gladys, also baked a batch of rich chocolate brownies and her well-known ginger cake, adding to the abundance of sweet offerings. Any leftover cakes were snapped up by staff, who took them home to enjoy later.
A cake raffle added to the excitement, with Julia – daughter of resident Molly – winning a fresh cream chocolate cake, much to the envy of others attending.
In total, the home raised £100.30 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
