councilchamberiwcouncilDave Burbage, the Isle of Wight Council’s Managing Director, has resigned from his position and will leave the Council by the end of the year.

The Council are currently in the process of appointing a new chief executive with interviews for the £125,000-a-year post being held next month. It is then hoped the new chief will be in place for November, ahead of Burbage’s departure by December.

Mr Burbage has said in a statement today (Wednesday):

“My resignation today allows for a three-month period to be implemented, as per the terms of my contract, for me to leave at the end of the year, in readiness for my successor to take over the reins.

“I am happy to work flexibly, as required, to ensure that the council, its staff and services, is passed smoothly across to the new Chief Executive”.
