A small section of a main road in Ryde has been cordoned off this evening (Monday).
Police are on scene on Green Street, at the junction with High Street and St John’s Road where cordons have been erected around a small section of the road.
It is unclear at this stage what exactly has occurred, but Police tape has been erected around a duo of benches on the corner of High Street and Green Street.
There are no visible signs of damage or injury within the cordon.
As a result of the incident, Green Street is currently blocked between its junctions with High Street and Station Street.
Island Echo understands that Paramedics were called to the scene, but have since left. It isn’t known if they conveyed anyone to hospital. Emergency crews have been on scene since around 21:30.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary have been approached for comment, with further updates expected tomorrow morning (Tuesday).
