A 23-year-old male who was stopped by Police in Newport yesterday (Saturday) as part of an investigation into allegations of a conspiracy was also arrested on 2 counts of drug driving.
At just before 18:00, Police carried out a proactive stop of an Audi car on Chapel Street in Newport.
The vehicle was blocked in by 3 unmarked vehicles, supported by the marked armed response vehicle, at the entrance to the council car park.
A number of males were pulled from the car and detained, with 1 individual – the driver – put to the ground and cuffed.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that the stop was in connection with an incident that happened earlier in the day in High Street, Ventnor.
As well as being arrested on suspicion of conspiring to assault a person causing actual bodily harm, the 23-year-old driver from Cowes was arrested on suspicion of 2 counts of drug driving.
He has been bailed while enquiries continue.

Why released if he has assaulted some one ( off now to intimidate and have complaint with drawn) and drug driving, seems like he’s scum and should be in custody – caught for this but probably got away with far more!.

In order for a suspect to be refused bail certain criteria has to be met, if not, bail has to be granted.Any decision by the Police to refuse bail can be overturned by a court.
The idiots you refer to did not leave school with a great education, or a massive debt after leaving uni.
