The Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary has said goodbye to people-loving Daisy after she passed away over the weekend.
The sad news was announced on the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary Facebook page earlier today (Sunday).
Daisy, who was into her 30s had been unwell for some time and was receiving veterinary treatment and physiotherapy sessions for several medical conditions.
Despite the best efforts of our wonderful team of staff and volunteers, together with the support of our veterinary team and physiotherapist – Daisy’s condition was deteriorating, and she was beginning to suffer.
Daisy spent her last day (Saturday) out in a paddock with her friends, Coffee, and Nick, surrounded by many volunteers, visitors, and staff, who loved her so much.
Having spent years at the sanctuary with her sidekicks Dizzle and Dazzle – who both passed away – Daisy spent the rest of her days in a small herd with fellow ageing donkeys.
Daisy also spent time in a community and outreach herd and was a donkey extremely fond of people.
An Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary spokesperson has said:
“All our donkeys end their days here at the Sanctuary and we ensure all our animals receive the highest standard of
“Rest in Peace sweet Daisy.”
