Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team were called into action this morning (Saturday) when Solent Coastguard received reports of a yacht adrift on the River Medina.
Coastguard officers were tasked to investigate a report that the 25ft yacht had broke free of its mooring at The Folly, East Cowes.
Once on scene, Ventnor CRT quickly located the yacht and were able to secure it to a mooring.
The yacht sustained some damage but thankfully no pollution has been reported. The owner has been informed.
