HM Coastguard has tasked 2 of the Isle of Wight’s Coastguard Rescue Teams to assist with the extrication of a casualty at Blackgang Chine this afternoon (Tuesday).
Needles and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Teams have responded to the popular family attraction, with Ventnor’s team seen heading through the villages of Whitwell and Niton at around 14:55 alongside an Ambulance, before entering the park.
Coastguard Rescue Officers have proceeded to the Frontierland area of the theme park, with the 2 CRTs assisting the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service with the transportation of a casualty through the park due to the hilly and steep nature of its paths.
UPDATE – The casualty has been successfully transferred to the ambulance for onward conveyance to St Mary’s Hospital.
Coastguards, who are now standing down from the incident, have used ropes to assist with moving the injured person in a basket stretcher.
The individual was located on the 1st floor of the ‘National Bank’ in Cowboy Land.
