UPDATED: Police, Fire and ambulance crews are attending a 2-car road traffic collision in Ryde this evening (Thursday), which has resulted in a Renault Clio coming to rest upside down on it’s roof.
3 ambulances are in attendance at High Park Road at the junction with Great Preston Road following the crash between a VW and a Renault.
Children have been involved in the incident, but no one is believed to have been seriously injured. All those involved are being checked over by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
Firefighters from nearby Ryde Fire Station are on scene but no one has required extrication. A second appliance from Sandown has been stood down whilst en-route.
The incident occurred just before 17:45.
High Park Road is currently partially closed in both directions whilst recovery of both vehicles is arranged.
UPDATE – The scene has now been cleared.
1 person has been taken to St Mary’s Hospital.
