A 2-year-old child locked inside a car has been freed with the assistance of firefighters in the West Wight this afternoon (Friday).
Freshwater Fire Station were mobilised to Fort Victoria Country Park near Yarmouth at just before 12:30 when the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were told of the youngster’s plight.
Temperatures of 30c are expected across the Isle of Wight today and with the sun at its strongest, the single retained crew made speed to the area.
Upon arrival it was discovered that the parents had already smashed the car window to gain access to the child, who was freed without injury.
