Southern Vectis is offering visitors and those living on the Isle of Wight the chance to take a picturesque ride on its popular Needles Breezer for free.
The open top bus service begins the start of its summer season on Saturday 12th March and passengers can travel for nothing during its first week – right up until Friday 18th March.
Following the island’s dramatic Jurassic coastline, the Needles Breezer offers some outstanding countryside views across its route.
Southern Vectis’ general manager, Matt Kitchin said:
“We are very lucky here on the island to have an incredible mix of coastal and scenic rural areas.
“Our Needles Breezer route climbs up the cliff edge to a point high above the Needles Rocks and Lighthouse. And it also takes in the picturesque harbour town of Yarmouth, beautiful Freshwater Bay and weaves its way into the fun filled Needles Park and Alum Bay.
“We want as many people as possible to experience these delights for themselves – so we won’t be charging for this service during the first week.”
The bus will run hourly everyday from 09:50, leaving Yarmouth bus station, and then at 50 minutes past the hour until 16:50 everyday.
Matt added:
“From Saturday 19th March, services will run every 30 minutes and normal ticket prices will apply – so we’re urging people not to miss this opportunity to ride on one of the nation’s most picturesque bus routes for free”.
