UPDATED: Carisbrooke C of E Primary School in Newport has closed earlier than normal this afternoon (Friday) due to a lack of water supply.
The senior leadership team have taken the decision to bring the school week to an end early as it cannot fully function without water – a basic need for toilets, heating and catering.
Parents have been instructed to collect their children as soon as possible having received at text at around 13:45.
UPDATE @ 16:52 – The Isle of Wight Council say the issue has been resolved and the school will re-open as normal next week.
