Emergency services have been called to a road traffic collision in Havenstreet this afternoon (Monday).
Firefighters from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance on Havenstreet Main Road, where a light blue hatchback has left the carriageway and come to rest upside down in a hedgerow.
The occupants of the vehicle are lucky to have escaped serious injury with the vehicle stopping between 2 trees.
The incident, which occurred at just before 16:45, has taken place between Stroudwood Lane and Firestone Copse.
The road is currently open in both directions.
UPDATE – Emergency crews have now stood down from the incident.
No one has been injured as a result of the off-road excursion.
Despite other media reports, the road was not blocked and remains open in both directions.
Road still closed at 7:50pm…
Strange most people manage to keep four wheels on the road.
