Police and paramedics are attending a road traffic collision in Freshwater this evening (Friday) in which a car has rolled onto its side.
The incident has occurred on the final stretch of Middle Road between Wilmingham Lane and Afton Road.
No one is thought to be trapped inside the vehicle – a Nissan Terrano – and there are no injuries reported as a result of this minor crash.
The road is currently closed in both directions whilst emergency services clear the scene of debris and arrange recovery of the car.
UPDATE @ 20:55 – The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service is now in attendance in the interests of safety. 1 retained appliance from Freshwater is on scene with firefighters using specialist oil spill response kits to clear a fuel spillage.
It is unclear how the crash occurred.
The road is expected to re-open in due course.
