Brighstone’s much-loved Christmas Tree Festival has raised over £6,000, with more than 150 tree spaces booked in record time.
Now in its third year under organisers Di Woodhouse and Emily Waters, the popular event drew visitors from both the Isle of Wight and the mainland. Trees were displayed across 7 venues, bringing festive cheer and a strong community spirit.
Entertainment spanned a wide range of activities. SBW Raptors held a free-flying owl display at Mottistone Church, and Wildheart Sanctuary gave a talk on Benji and Balu alongside other nature-themed stories.
Outside, crowds enjoyed morris dancing from Mr Baker’s Dozen, drumming from Raw Samba, a Father Christmas walkabout, and a vintage tractor run courtesy of Vectis Vintage Tractor & Engine Club.
Seasonal reflection came from services, choirs, and music at St. Mary’s Church and the Methodist Church. Brighstone School also hosted its annual Christmas Fair to coincide with the festival, benefiting from increased footfall.
Funds raised will support around 50 charities. The headline cause for 2025 is the Daisy Bus Ring, which has so far received £500 from the festival and £130 raised by The Three Bishops pub.
A quiz night is planned for Sunday 25th January at 18:00 at The Three Bishops to help reach a £1,000 target. Booking is essential by calling 07581 230341.
