Multiple police and paramedic units have responded to an area of woodland near Ryde following the discovery of a body this afternoon (Sunday).
At least 4 police units and 2 ambulances were seen responding to Ladies Walk in Binstead at around 13:30 following an emergency call reporting the discovery of a body amidst a small wooded area off the quiet single track lane.
Officers swiftly secured the scene and located the body near to Players Beach and the grounds of Ryde House, with paramedics assessing for any signs of life.
Sadly, it was soon confirmed that the individual – who it is understood had been found by a member of the public and their child – was deceased.
Hampshire Constabulary has been approached for a statement. It is not yet known if the death is being treated as suspicious and officers remain on the scene at this time.
UPDATE @ 18:09 – Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious and that the next of kin have been informed.
