45-year-old Steven Tuckey has been handed a suspended prison sentence after being found guilty of stalking a police detective and damaging the front door of Newport Police Station.
Tuckey, of Hillrise Avenue in Binstead, appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court last Tuesday (23rd September), where he was convicted of stalking DC Ross Jones of Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary and criminal damage.
The court heard that between 24th May 2023 and 1st July 2023, Tuckey sent abusive emails, publicly displayed the officer’s name with the intent of undermining him, and caused damage to the police station door on 24th June 2023.
Tuckey denied both charges, resulting in multiple court cases, but was found guilty by magistrates last week.
The 45-year-old was sentenced to 4 months in custody, suspended for 12 months. The court said the custodial sentence was necessary due to the deliberate nature of the harassment, which was targeted at a serving police officer. However, the sentence was suspended after magistrates accepted there was a realistic prospect of rehabilitation.
A pre-sentence report had recently been prepared for another matter, and probation services confirmed that Tuckey was engaging well and attending his rehabilitation activity sessions.
A 10-year Stalking Protection Order imposed in February 2024 for Tuckey’s actions towards a Babestation model remains in place.
Tuckey was ordered to pay £650 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, although in a previous hearing Tuckey stated he was already in £40,000 of debt.

He was detained under a treatment section (Section 3) of the Mental Health Act 1983 in 2002, and has been subject to Section 117 Aftercare since 2003.
