This winter be among the first to sign up for an epic once-in-a-lifetime challenge in support of Mountbatten Isle of Wight — husky sledding in Sweden’s Arctic Circle with the Lapland Husky Trail.
Commit early to ensure you have a year to prepare and fundraise for this epic adventure and if you sign up before 17:00 on 31st December, 2024 there is a discount on your registration fee.
In partnership with charity challenge event provider, Global Adventure Challenges, this challenge will see you sled over 240km, through untouched natural landscapes and past beautiful scenic views, while tending to your pack of husky dogs. The epic journey will finish at Sweden’s world-famous Ice Hotel.

New to dog sledding? This epic challenge is suitable for beginners, as full training will be given. All you need to join in is a thirst for extreme adventure!
200km north of the Arctic Circle, Kiruna is Sweden’s gateway to the snow-covered, stark beauty of Lapland. Your challenge takes place in the icy landscape between Kiruna and Gällivare.
Participants are asked to commit to raising a minimum amount through sponsorship, to cover the cost of the adventure, as well as ensuring vital funds are provided for our end-of-life and palliative care charity.
The fundraising journey will be supported by the Mountbatten team, including setting up a dedicated fundraising page, so you can keep track of each step towards your minimum sponsorship goal.
Mountbatten community fundraiser, Harri McNeil, says:
“The Mountbatten Isle of Wight team is so excited to be offering this incredible challenge. There are limited places, so I would urge you to sign up early, to avoid disappointment.
“Sweden is the most incredible country and you will not regret taking on this amazing adventure in aid of our palliative and end-of-life care services, supporting Islanders in their own homes and in our Newport hospice.”
