Put the raincoats away… the Isle of Wight is set to bask in glorious sunshine over the forthcoming Bank Holiday Weekend with temperatures of up to 29c expected.
Local forecasters IW Met Service say that the weather is set to take a turn for the better as this week progresses, with wall-to-wall sunshine, blue skies and luscious temperatures expected at times from Thursday onwards.
Friday looks set to be a warm day with sunny spells but occasional cloudier periods. Temperatures will reach a comfortable 21c to 24c – a stark contrast to last Friday when torrential rain fell across the Island.
Saturday looks likely to be even warmer than Friday, although the Island will see some hazy sunshine as well as occasional cloudier spells. The mercury will rise to around 25c in many parts with a light to moderate easterly breeze.
Things really hot up as the weekend progresses with up to 28c forecast for Sunday, with sunny spells and areas of cloud from time to time. It will feel very warm in the light or moderate easterly breeze.
The Bank Holiday itself (Monday 26th August) looks set to be the hottest day with temperatures expected to hit a high of 29c, depending on location. It will be another very warm day with sunny spells and patchy cloud.
