A car has been seized following an incident in Ashey yesterday (Saturday) that saw men allegedly armed with machetes gain entry to an address in suspicious circumstances.
Police were called at around 16:42 yesterday to an incident on Ashey Road, near with the junction with Bettesworth Road.
Island Echo understands that 3 men with machetes were seen arriving in a white Audi and entered an address in what Police are describing as ‘suspicious circumstances’.
An eyewitness has said the men involved were armed and were carrying machetes, whilst another has stated German motor was seen being driven quickly away from the scene towards The Downs.
Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary attended the scene and found no signs of a disturbance or trace of the vehicle or men involved.
A white Audi A3 matching the description was later located in Fairview Crescent, Sandown and has been seized by Police.
A Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesperson has said:
”This is currently under investigation. Anyone with information should call 101 quoting reference 44230346038.”

Sounds about right. Someone I know said there is a constant weed smell coming from there.
It’s about time someone seized all the illegally parked vehicles
outside Sandown Pier and along Regent Street in Shanklin.

There is no Traffic Law down Regent Street, even though there is a Cop shop along the road.
