The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has touched down in Nettlestone this lunchtime (Wednesday) where medics are responding to what is believed to be a horse riding incident.
Flying doctors are working alongside the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service to treat an injured casualty at stables off Park Lane.
The alarm was raised shortly after 11:30 with the air ambulance flying south from its base in Andover.
It’s unclear at this stage what exactly has caused the potentially serious injury to the female casualty, who lies injured in the middle of a field.
UPDATE @ 12:52 – The air ambulance has lifted off from Nettlestone and is flying the casualty directly to Southampton’s Major Trauma Centre.
Local crews are now standing down from the incident.
