Wightlink’s Yarmouth service is experiencing delays of 90 minutes following a ‘docking incident’ earlier this afternoon (Friday).
Island Echo is told by witnesses on board that the 14:40 Yarmouth service endured a ‘heavy docking’, with passengers then unable to unload as the prow was no longer operable.
It’s said that an issue with the prow ram prevented its operation.
Advising passengers of a technical issue, Wightlink have said:
“Due to a technical issue customers travelling on our Yarmouth-Lymington service may experience delays of up to 90 minutes today (Friday 9th June). Please continue to check in on time for your booked sailing as our teams work hard to return to our usual schedule. We apologise for any changes to your travel plans.”
Wightlink have been approached for further comment.
