New Year’s Day was a happy event in Sandford as Sharon and David Groves’ rare Middle White pig Doris produced 6 healthy piglets.
As an indication of how rare this breed has become, there are currently more giant pandas in the world than Middle White pigs.
The farrowing was extra special, as the couples’ boar Charlie – also a Middle White – was the sire who himself won the overall championship pig class at the recent Royal Isle of Wight County Show in July 2024.
Sharon and David continue to produce top quality pedigree stock, and this particular litter has great potential in the future in the show ring throughout the country this year in 2025 and onwards.
