For the 2nd time this Summer, a Level 5 heat warning has been issued for the Isle of Wight by local forecasters IW Met Service.
Temperatures in excess of 32c are expected later on today (Thursday), with 34c+ likely on Friday and into the weekend.
By early to mid-afternoon, parts of the West Wight are expected to reach the Level 5 warning threshold, whilst the majority of the Isle of Wight sits under a Level 4 warning.
Forecasters say that today will be very hot with unbroken sunshine, apart from the odd patch of very high thin cloud here and there. 33c is expected.
The hottest places on the Island today will be away from the windward coast in the East and South Wight, where the temperature is expected to be a cooler 25c.
There are early hints that things will break down next week with the potential for rainfall and thunderstorms – welcome news for gardeners and Southern Water, but less so for holidaymakers.

Whilst families head for the sea, I wonder how many poor ‘pets’ are left to bake in hutches and cages whilst ‘they’ have a day of fun.
THINK, the Sun moves around, just because a pen is shaded when you leave could be boiling hot hours later.

At least the family will have dinner already cooked when they get home….
