2 girls have been charged in connection with an assault that took place in Ryde last month (13th April).
Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary were called at 21:19 with reports of a 17-year-old girl being punched and kicked by 2 other teenagers in Union Street.
It’s also alleged that a man in his 30s was hit in the chest during this incident.
Following enquiries, a 16-year-old girl from Newport has been charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and assault by beating, and a 15-year-old girl from Binstead has been charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.
They were remanded in custody to appear at the Isle of Wight Youth Court this morning (Thursday).
At the hearing, they were bailed with conditions and will appear at the same court again on 7th June.

Probably cos they were 2 young horrible girls! What would the headlines of been if he had retailated? He would of had to use some force to stop them & then the poor chap would be criticised for that!!
