2 men from the Isle of Wight accused of forcing their way into a property and attacking a man have been charged with robbery.
The incident is said to have occurred at an address on Station Avenue in Sandown at around 18:50 on Monday (9th August).
Police were called following reports that 2 men had forced their way into a residential property and attacked a male occupant inside.
30-year-old Jamie Lee, from Avenue Road in Sandown, has been charged with robbery alongside 30-year-old Benjamin Charles from Crocker Street, Newport.
The duo have been remanded in custody to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.
UPDATE – Both Lee and Charles have been remanded in custody to appear at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on 20th September 2021.
These 2 crooks have been busy in Newport, lock them up and throw the leys away,
Seeing as prisons are filling up, ( full up ) maybe thieves should have a form of punishment that fits the crime, no not the old chop off the hands like they do in some countries, start with a finger, then if they persist, keep going until they got none left.

Careful, you’d be done for assault or something if anything untoward happened to burglars going about their business. I never forget the infamous remark some judge once made, that is is hard enough and stressful enough being a burglar without having to face being assaulted by householders. Just about sums it up and that was years ago, it’s even more soft on crime these days.
