A 17-year-old girl has been arrested after kicking and biting Police whilst being detained in Sandown this morning (Tuesday).
Officers were called to reports of a disturbance at an address on Grafton Lane, between Fitzroy Street and Grafton Street, at 07:38.
Multiple Police units responded to the scene, with a local area search soon commencing to locate an individual who left the area on foot.
It didn’t take long for officers to locate their suspect at the junction of High Street and Pier Street.
It’s here that the teenager decided to kick and bite officers as she was being detained.
Then, whilst being transported to custody, Police had to pull over on The Broadway and draw their Taser when the detained individual caused a fuss in the cell van.
The 17-year-old girl has been taken to Newport Police Station where she is being questioned on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker.

I’ve never been disrespectful to police and always appreciated them for their work and abuse they do put up with, BUT they are not ALL without prejudice. If they choose to, they can make up bollocks & ensure you end up fined,on probation,or in prison, even IF YOU’RE NOT GUILTY! I was in the paper for assault and I’m doing the punishment/s plus PAID the fine so have NO reason to lie. I’ve never hurt anyone, but NOW have assault on a police officer x2. The people accused are not always GUILTY. SO, Well said! All you need is to be in wrong place at the wrong time & if a PC takes an instant dislike to you,(ones over here especially), can make your life an absolute misery, just because some of them happen to be bullies with a badge!

I was accused of “assault by beating” of a female officer, when I lightly swatted her hand away from my face after she was practically touching my nose (I hadn’t done anything wrong and was not under arrest) By the time she was finished, I was arrested on suspicion of assaulting her, and she also LIED on OATH in court, saying that I had trapped her arm in the window of my car (which is fitted with an anti-pinch window mechanism and has been tested several times to prove it cannot do this).There was NO cctv, and she was in plain clothes, but decided she was going to teach me a lesson, because I DARED to walk away from her – total jobsworth! Don’t believe for one minute that people go around BITING officers, half of ‘em claim compensation!
This is true. My wife and I saw the entire incident and I happened to be talking to your young son in the car park when they accosted you. shocking situation for both of you and truthfully from start to finish you were not in the wrong.Hope it was NFA?
No,unfortunately there was no cctv, so it was her word against mine & as a police officer,WPC Peachey LIED in court,SO even though I showed video proving my car cannot shut anyone’s limbs in its windows, the prosecutor said video could have been from anyone’s car and not necessarily the one I was driving that night?? I was found guilty even though as you saw, (WISH I’d been able to get a statement from U BEFORE I went to court)! The lying police officer stopped me for NO reason because I went in to a shop & tried to help with an incident involving an adult family member & when I left she demanded I STAY, though I had done nothing wrong-She was in plain clothes & didn’t identify herself.I now have an assault conviction!
