A 16-year-old boy who was arrested on suspicion of terror offences yesterday (Wednesday) has been bailed until October.
As first reported by Island Echo, detectives and other specialist officers from Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE), supported by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary, descended on properties in the West Wight and the Newport Area yesterday morning.
The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested on suspicion of dissemination of terrorist publications under Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006 and collection of information under Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
He has today (Thursday) been released from custody and has been bailed until Friday 6th October.
The investigation continues.

He is currently un-convicted of any crimes. They would have decided that he is a low risk of further offences, he would not be likely to abscond, and finally due to the type of crime he would not be able to intimidate witnesses.
