A 15-year-old boy and 3 other people have been arrested after officers descended on Newport McDonald’s on Sunday evening (18th September).
Police arrived at the scene on St James’ Street shortly after 18:30 following a concern for welfare.
At the scene, officers stopped and searched 3 individuals, with 1 of them becoming difficult and uncooperative. During the search of this particular individual – a 15-year-old boy – multiple items were seized including; a quantity of MDMA, magic mushrooms and a large machete.
As a result, the youngster was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs as well as for possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and has since been bailed with conditions until 16th October while the investigation continues.
Investigations that evening also led to the arrests of 3 further individuals on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs, namely a 47-year-old man, a 47-year-old woman, and a 19-year-old man.
All 3 have been released from custody but remain under investigation while enquiries continue.

Why are they released? – so as they can collaborate, tamper with witness evidence etc cover tracks. Teenagers are not the villans, they are groomed by paedos drug gang’s who just dispose of one youngster and move on to another.
“uncooperative”
Taser to the chest solves that problem
Total garbage. Save time and money just chuck them off a high cliff.
solving violence with violence? ok then.
I’m wondering what the hell dragged that 15 year old up?….another one we have to pay for on benefits…
stop dragging working class people through the dirt, i know of another family whom the taxpayer fund and have just had a few million quids worth of legal bills and hush money paid. you can find bad apples across all classes.
These lowlife are not working classes, never were and never will be….so don’t try deflecting reality into something it’s not….
Couldn’t be more wrong. I used to be a dosser, from 15-20 actually. Now? Now I run a successful business. So up yours for thinking that kids that start nowhere, have no future. Because you couldn’t be more wrong 🙂
Well done to you, however, Most don’t recover, it’s in their DNA…
The two 47 year olds probably.
Why you assume his family on benefits or dragged up – grooming is done to all classes, sometimes the blackmailing goes further with the rich who have in some ways more to loose. No teenager is immune your son or my son. They are forced to carry and are vunerable from other gang’s, not right, but that’s why they have knives etc they believe it might offer them protection. These gang’s are after compensation when these lads have stuff confiscated and blame them for being caught. Even if given prison the families have to pay debt or get car torched etc.
So, we should all carry knives to protect ourselves???…..what planet do you live on?…..Good old fashioned hard punishment is the answer, and nothing less….
Where did I suggest we carry knives ? clearly you don’t understand the world for kid’s and teenagers. With child abuse at highest ever, mental Health, bullying ,drugs and gang’s . One day this may well come to your doorstep/family and you will feel very different then.
yes they should watch midsommer murders no working class there.
Mum and his thenth “dad” probably!
He’ll only get a rollicking for getting caught.
Parents must be so proud, look little Jimmy has turned out just like us….. Scum!
Family breakdown doesn’t help with these youngsters
what a bunch of f#cking idiots. they deserve the suspended sentence or whatever ridiculous punishment they will be given
see what youve done greedy council..taking back handers for scummy mainland overspill and dumping in our back yards! nice one
been getting worse and worse over here.granted we do have our share of own crime but now its more like pompey every day
imagine if we had a fixed link and all the crime that would come… oh wait
No need to wait the Island is full of crime now
Another local caulkhead causing trouble
Just like the local island born and bred feral kids in Sandown.
All made on the Isle of Wight
The old adage ‘Monkey see, Monkey do’ still rings true.
Perhaps it would have been prudent not to have imported such in the first place as a worse role model would be difficult to find.
Thank you so much for releasing then (on bail). Now I really will safe walking around in Newport, or anywhere else, on the Isle of Crime. Well done.
In my day this stuff would simply not happen, young people had respect and discipline, wha t has happened to todays youth?
Without any fear as they know punishment will be minor, but with huge sums of money to be made, THAT it what has happened to young people today.
RAP MUSIC ! Thats what………….
I’m afraid the breakdown started with the 1980s ‘it’s my right/you can’t touch me/grab it steal it nothing latter’s era .
No respect.
He was searched, the police found a large machete? Where did he hide that?
If this doesn’t prove how slack our police force is then nothing will. Led by an overweight and obese leader
I totally agree with you Tim,
Who does this 15 year old kid think he is FFS? A wanna be gangsta? Grow up twat, this is the IOW not the Bronx!
Give it another 20 years or so.
Globallisation has/is destroyed this country.
Why have they been released this absolutely ridiculous get a bloody grip coppers and do your bloody job and man up
Don’t believe everything you read………
So, what happened Jj ? Genuinely curiose.
About time they closed McDonald’s down. I think it’s just a drug haven for the great unwashed.
Time for the public to stand up and be counted rather than bleating behind closed curtains
Far too many knife crimes on the Island lately, cannot all be due to lockdown. A 15 year old with that amount of harmful **** in a rucksack needs closer monitoring. As for the 3 Adults – I use that word loosely – Perhaps National Service should be brought back – at least some may end up with assisting the human race rather than destroying it.
