WOODLAND FIRE IN WOOTTON


UPDATED: The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have 12 firefighters tackling a small woodland fire in Wootton this afternoon (Friday).

2 appliances and a water carrier are on scene at Brocks Copse Road – which connected Wootton to Whippingham.

An area of woodland around 20m x 20m is alight, but under control.

Fire crews were mobilised at around 13:10.

UPDATE – The fire, which was caused by a bonfire that spread, was extinguished by 14:30.
