Coastguards were called in to assist paramedics in moving an injured woman who had fallen on St Boniface Down this afternoon (Saturday).
The casualty had taken a tumble and suffered a leg injury as a result.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service requested the assistance of Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team on scene off Public Footpath V1 shortly before 16:00.
Emergency teams worked together to extricate the woman from the downland through narrow steps to the awaiting ambulance.
The woman has since been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment.
