A woman stuck on uneven terrain near the landslip at East Cowes has been helped to safety by Police and Coastguards this evening (Saturday).
The alarm was raised shortly before 18:45 when the individual found themselves in a bit of a sticky situation in a muddy section of the woodland along the Esplanade.
Police were first on scene and located the casualty to the south of the landslip near the most northerly point of the Island.
Both Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked to the scene. However, the situation was quickly resolved thanks to the initial efforts of Police officers.
Cowes RNLI lifeboat was also tasked to the incident, but was stood down whilst launching.
The woman was uninjured and able to return home.

So someone walks in muddy ground inland. Bembridge AND Ventnor are called out to this? And Cowes RNLI too? Am I missing something?
Yes, they need to show how important they are. Police involved also!
Let’s hope this thoughtless idiot pays for these people to be called out !
who would have thought that part of the seafront is actually fenced off for a reason!
