A 56-year-old woman who allegedly stole cash from a property in Wootton yesterday (Thursday) has been arrested. Officers were called at 10:27 on Thursday to a report of a theft from an address in Glebe Gardens in Wootton. It was reported a quantity of cash had been stolen. Following an investigation into the incident, Police attended an address on Winston Road in Newport and arrested a 56-year-old woman on suspicion of theft and threatening to damage property. She remained in custody yesterday evening. UPDATE @ 14:30 – Police have confirmed that the woman at the centre of the investigation has been released and will face no further action.
