Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward as a matter of urgency following a serious crash on Military Road this afternoon (Wednesday), in which a rider and their motorcycle left the road and came to rest in a ditch.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight constabulary say that they are keen to identify any witnesses, in particular, a motorcyclist who may have witnessed the incident.
As previously reported by Island Echo, emergency services were called to reports of a single vehicle collision on Military Road near to Whale Chine where a motorcycle left the carriageway and came to rest in a roadside ditch.
Through enquiries, Police believe that another motorcyclist may have been riding just ahead of the motorcycle involved in the collision.
A spokesperson for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary said:
“We are keen to identify the motorcyclist riding ahead, as they may have witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it. If this is you, or you have any information that could assist ongoing enquiries surrounding this collision, please contact police on 101 quoting 44230331189.

Closures are in place on Military Road surrounding the scene and are likely to remain for a number of hours.

You wanna make the roads safer make the car test harder and add a psychological evaluation to the license application process and for all current licence holders it will make the roads safer and solve the fictional global warming/climate change lie at the same time as it will cut the amount of vehicles on the roads and the amount of people who can get and keep a driver’s license by millions as 90% of driving is attitude so 99.9999999% of British driver’s would loose there licence for everrrr and be refused one on application as they would fail the psychological evaluation
Few months ago I was overtaken by a motorbike and it went past doing a “wheely” including the car in front…..always been plenty of idiots on this road including car drivers !
I doubt the biker in front even knew what happened behind him/her, riding a bike is a very front focused thing most of the time.
I bet he/she did if they were racing…
Lack of chevrons on practically invisible corners due to lack of hedges. Wondered how long it would be before there was an accident on this resurfaced road.
