A bumper year of fundraising in Nettlestone and Seaview has seen £6,000 donated to local charities and schools, thanks to the success of popular community events including Party on the Prom, the May Fair and Summer Fair.
The Nettlestone & Seaview Community Partnership has announced that it is able to distribute the impressive sum after reconciling the costs of running its events throughout 2026.
The money has been raised through the support of local residents, visitors, businesses and stallholders who have attended and contributed to the various events during the year.
A total of 5 Isle of Wight charities and good causes will each receive £1,000, including Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, Mountbatten Hospice, Seaview Sailing Trust, Ability Dogs 4 Young People and the Isle of Wight Society for the Blind.
Local schools are also set to benefit, with £500 being donated to St Helens Primary School towards its new resource centre.
A further £500 has been awarded to Nettlestone Primary School to help equip its new library.
The donations follow a particularly successful year for the Partnership, which organises community events to raise funds for local initiatives as well as supporting the running of the popular Party on the Prom.
The group says the £6,000 donation is an exceptional amount made possible by the success of this year’s May Fair, Summer Fair and Party on the Prom raffle.
Organisers have thanked everyone who attended the events and contributed to the fundraising efforts, alongside the businesses that provided sponsorship and logistical support.
Among those recognised are The Old Fort, principal sponsor of Party on the Prom, and Lily’s Café, principal sponsor of the May Fair.
Wight Mutts supported the Summer Dog Show, whilst Priory Cottage Catering and the Sea View Yacht Club also provided support throughout the year.
The Partnership has also expressed its appreciation to the many other local businesses and stallholders who donated raffle prizes and helped make the events a success.
With another successful fundraising year behind them, organisers are already looking ahead to 2027 and are hoping the community will continue to support the events that make these donations possible.
