The Wight Aviation Museum Team welcomed, Andrew Hall-Jones, the son of Rod Hall-Jones the current owner of the “Spartan 3 Seater” aircraft that WAM is bringing home to the Isle of Wight.
Andrew who is with the New Zealand Defence Force and is just finishing his current “tour of duty” in Britain , wanted to visit the Wight Aviation Museum to see for himself and to reassure his father of the suitability for displaying the Spartan aircraft.
Andrew was shown around the museum by members of the WAM Team and was very impressed with what the WAM Team have achieved in just a few years. Andrew then presented the museum with a signed and dedicated copy of his father’s autobiographical book “You’ll never make it.
Speaking on the visit, Andrew said:
“I am very pleased to see the Wight Aviation Museum is developing so well, preserving and displaying artefacts and exhibits from the very rich Isle of Wight aviation heritage. I am sure that it will be a very fitting place for the Spartan to be displayed”
Helen Blake, chair person of WAM said:
“It was really lovely to meet Andrew and to show him where the Spartan will be coming home to”
