More than 700 homes and businesses in parts of Newport are without power this afternoon (Tuesday) due to a large-scale outage.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks are investigating a fault that is affecting the PO30 region – a total of 65 postcodes.
The network fault has hit the Parkhurst area of Newport, causing issues at HMP Isle of Wight, St Mary’s Hospital and St Cross Business Park.
It is currently estimated that power will be restored by 21:00 tonight.
Electricity supply was lost at 15:53.
