Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary is looking for new volunteers to join the Independent Advisory Group (IAG) here on the Isle of Wight.
Being a member of the IAG is a small commitment; and you will be able to discuss community matters, audit stop & search forms, and you can help to shape the future of policing on the Isle of Wight.
As a member of the IAG, successful volunteers will be able to work as part of a team to query, advise and comment to the police and partners.
Responsibilities of the role are but are not limited to:
- To consider and advice on issues affecting the whole organisation including policy and procedure, critical incidents and operational practice and planning.
- To advice on a variety of police issues including;
(i) Arrest and custody issues.
(ii) Critical incidents.
(iii) Crime which has an unequal impact on the diverse community e.g. Hate Crime. (iv) Anti-Social behaviour

Too many vehicles driving with NO MOT
Too many vehicles speeding
Too many old vehicles parked along island roads with NO MOT
Are people with a past criminal history who would like the opportunity to change welcome?
So what does the PCC do again ?? Surely part of her remit .. is exactly this .. ?? Come on PCC step up !!
What I want back on the island is police stations open but no one listens to me and I’ll have to pay 200 pound a year for a one police station which is not easy to get to
