VILLAGE OF ANGELS TOUCH DOWN IN ST HELENS

villageofangelsThe Angels have landed and are placing themselves to watch over the village of St Helens throughout the Christmas period and locals are being invited to join in the launch celebrations this weekend.

Following the success of the Village of Angels in St Helens last year, more than 100 Angels will be landing in the village and shining throughout the Christmas period. This year the organising team have built on 2013’s success with more Angels expected to visit than ever before.

The Angels are placed throughout the village using a mixture of public space, private homes and local shops, restaurants and the village pub. The local community has been hugely creative using recycled materials to make some highly imaginative Angels; using everything from old newspapers, milk bottles, foil radiator insulation and even some bits from brewing beer. These materials create a wondrous Christmas Spectacle for everyone to enjoy.

The Businesses in the local community has been extremely generous, with Hose Rhodes Dickson having agreed to be overall sponsors of the event and many other businesses sponsoring individual Angels meaning that all costs have been covered. All donations and funds generated from this festive project will be donated directly to St Helens Playgroup to help with running costs throughout the year, so fund raising is of the up most importance.

The official launch for the Village of Angels, St Helens takes place at the Vine Inn from 16:00 on Saturday 6th December, where you can enjoy a mince pie; enter the raffle to win some fantastic prizes donated from local businesses and artists and take part in guided Angel Walk with story teller Sue Bailey.

Guided Maps will also be available so you can wander through the village and enjoy this wondrous Christmas spectacle.
