UPDATED: A blanket of thick fog is causing disruption to cross-Solent travel this morning (Saturday).

Wightlink have cancelled the 07:00 car ferry from Fishbourne as a result of the conditions, whilst the Yarmouth to Lymington ferry is running with ‘slight delays’.

Meanwhile Red Funnel are advising of 10-15 minute delays on their hi-speed Red Jet service between Cowes and Southampton. Their vehicle ferry service is running without fault.

Om the roads… motorists are advised to take extra caution, ensure headlights are on and stick to main roads if possible.

UPDATE @ 07:41 – Hovertravel say that they are running to timetable but with extended crossing duration.

The same can be said for Red Funnel, who are advising of 35 minute crossings between Cowes and Southampton this morning.

Wightlink say services have now returned to normal.

UPDATE @ 08:49 – The 09:15 Red Jet from Southampton and the 09:45 from West Cowes has both been cancelled as a result of the adverse conditions.

UPDATE @ 10:23 – Disruption continues this morning with Red Funnel’s Red Jet service operating a 2-craft shuttle until further notice.
