more good island driving on the mainland we look before we pull out
So these incidents on the Island should be of absolutely no concern to you at all then really, unless of course you have a particularly empty life?
Most people on the island might drive like utter morons most of the time but at least when we go to the mainland we know the rules of the road are the same and the signs and road markings are and mean the same unlike when you mainlanders come to the island and drive like your driving in a foreign country for the first time and it’s not like nobody on the mainland has never had a car accident before so yeah SHUT UP
It’s not us islanders it’s you lot from mainland don’t know how to drive? If you don’t like how we drive go back to where you come from ???
Islanders are useless drivers, they approach a roundabout and are
clueless what to do next!
They should take their driving tests in the real world on the mainland
not in Numptyville.
If only your Dad had…
I completely agree
25 minutes for the police to arrive? Where did they come from? Portsmouth? But we pay a damn site more for those in blue
McDonald’s was busy.
When will something be done about this junction? Let me guess when someone is killed
Junction OK, it is the idiots using it that need something doing…..
Don’t drive like an idiot then…
Both drivers should have to pay for a re test… LEARN TO DRIVE…
Yet another accident at this junction, too many motorist pulling out at the wrong time or not stopping at all at the double white lines. Plus cars approaching it in excess of 50mph, no chance of stopping if someone just pulls out in front of them
They do that everywhere and the mainland drivers think rules of the road don’t exist here .you need to stop and look it’s not rocket science
Road Safety does not exist on the Island
Why all these RTC’s here you can see clearly both ways are they just not looking or chancing they can get out before the other car comes surly careless driving here
Where in the article does it mention that the driver was surly. You don’t know what mood he was in.
I think it’s because they’re on an incline and they can’t do hill starts! They have no clutch control to inch forward to look for approaching traffic or they can’t do hill starts and so they rush out trying to beat oncoming traffic and expect them to be able to slow down in time. Also, people are useless at judging speed and have no patience. I’ve lost count of how many times drivers will pull out in front of me (Compton car park a prime example) rather than wait seconds for me to pass, forcing me to slow, when there’s nothing behind me!
Agreed. One morning the car in front of me at that junction could not pull out without stalling. I asked the young lady if she wanted me to pull out onto the main road for her She gladly accepted. So in this case it was sorted. There also used to be a grip problem when pulling out there with wheel spin causing problems.
Another elderly driver pulling out on a more vigilant unsuspecting driver, every day I see the old drivers make big mistakes at junctions and especially roundabouts..the elderly need reeducation with the high way code! daily I have near misses because of incompetence of the older driver..message unto the old folks that pull out in front of me and others..STOP DRIVING!!
“pulling out on a more vigilant unsuspecting driver”
if they were more vigilant, they would have seen a vehicle waiting to pull out, and been ready to stop if necessary,.. and by definition wouldn’t have been unsuspecting….
just because the speedlimit is 60 there,. doesn’t mean its either safe to do so, or that you shouldn’t be aware of other vehicles that may pull out…
that junction is known to be difficult so pull out of (up hill, limited visibility, often lots of traffic, bad grip), soif you’re driving down that hill (either side), FFS be ready to slow down if necessary,… it’s not exactly rocket science
