The Downs has been closed by Police in both directions as a result of a 3-car collision this afternoon (Sunday).
Emergency services are currently on scene a few hundred yards from Down End where an Audi A3, Mazda MX-5 and a Ford S-Max have been involved in a shunt.
No one has sustained any injuries in the incident but damage has been caused to the 3 vehicles.
It’s understood 1 of the cars had broken down before the collision occurred at around 17:10.
The road is currently closed from The Hare and Hounds to Rowlands Lane whilst recovery is arranged.
Motorists should divert via Arreton or Havenstreet.
UPDATE @ 19:00 – The road has re-opened to all traffic.

So often though that when someone breaks down on a road like the downs, it is just after blind bend so hard to notice especially on a 60mph road and Other drivers who have just passed the broken down car, fail to have the common sense to warn drivers heading towards it by flashing hazard warning lights. I always leave my hazards on to warm incoming drivers to slow down.
Wow lucky people not to have been injured
Wow 3 POWER CARS RACING WHO WON !!@@@@ THATS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE…
Gosh I bet that silver and black car feel pretty unlucky that they got snarled up in all of this!!!
