Hovertravel services between Ryde and Southsea have been suspended this morning (Monday) due to technical issues.
The cross-Solent operator has confirmed that no hovercraft are currently operating to or from the Isle of Wight, just as the new working week gets underway. Both Island Flyer and Solent Flyer are sat on the pad at Ryde.
Tickets are being accepted on Wightlink’s Fastcat service in the meantime.
An update is expected at 08:00, but there is no guarantee that the service will resume at that time.
This morning’s disruption is expected to have a significant knock-on effect for those committing for work, as well as children heading to Portsmouth Grammar School.
UPDATE @ 07:59 – Hovertravel services remain suspended, with an update due at 09:00.
UPDATE @ 09:23 – Services have now resumed.
