Ryde Academy and 6th form students enjoyed a trip to London to visit the courts.
A group consisting of both our 6th form year 10 Citizenship students embarked on an educational trip to London, where they had the opportunity to engage in a guided tour of the esteemed Royal Courts of Justice. The tour encompassed an exploration of the high court of appeal, which holds jurisdiction over both civil and criminal branches of law. Following this immersive experience, students are expected to write a reflective essay about the trip. During their visit, the students enjoyed a lunch in the vicinity of St. Paul’s Cathedral, with some of the students opting to venture inside and explore the grandeur of the historic landmark.
Following their time at St. Paul’s, the group proceeded to the renowned Old Bailey crown court, famously known for its significant legal proceedings.
Within the courtroom, they had the unique privilege of observing live hearings, including cases involving substantial quantities of cocaine valued at 168 million pounds, as well as matters related to murder and torture.

“The experience proved highly valuable for our students as it provided them with a comprehensive understanding of the various career paths within the justice system. Witnessing courtroom proceedings first hand allowed them to gain insights into the legal profession and the diverse avenues through which individuals can enter this field.
“Overall, this educational excursion to the Royal Courts of Justice and the Old Bailey crown court left our students enriched with knowledge and a deeper appreciation for the justice system and its integral role in society.”

Looks like an induction visit so they’ll know their way around when they appear in the dock in future.

Shush lad they are just kids having a good time at a good school. My nephew went on that trip and he is good as gold, I would love to say that face to face to the students, teachers and parents. It’s embarrassing that you are lurking on here harassing kids, grow up!
