Police search advisors and other specialist officers have arrived at a property in Ryde this morning (Wednesday) where investigations continue into the unexplained death of a man in his 50s. Paramedics were called to an address on Swanmore Road, near the junction with Ashey Road, shortly before 17:45 on Monday night. By 18:13, Police had been informed of a death at the residential property, as first reported by Island Echo. Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that the force is treating the sudden death as unexplained. Mainland-based forensic investigators and detectives from Newport CID were seen entering the property yesterday evening, with Police maintaining a scene guard throughout the night and into this morning. Officers have remained in Swanmore for some 40 hours.
Now, specially trained officers have been drafted in and forensic investigators have returned to the property as enquiries into the death continue. Fire officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are also present at the scene. It’s understood that attention is turning to the removal of the body from the property. It was just last Wednesday that Police launched an investigation into another unexplained death in Shanklin. Little is known about either incident, with enquiries continuing.
