Police are continuing to investigate the discovery of a man’s body in Shanklin last week, with the death still being treated as unexplained. As first reported by Island Echo, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary was alerted to concerns for the welfare of a man – believed to be a 49-year-old – at an address on Scinde Cresecent at 09:13 on Wednesday morning. Officers arrived shortly before 11:00 and discovered the lifeless body of a male inside a flat. The entire street was cordoned off as an investigation led by Newport CID was launched. On Thursday, Police confirmed that the death was being treated as unexplained – meaning they’ve been unable to determine if the death involved foul play or not. Some 4 days later that remains the case.
Although cordons have now been removed, it is said that Police are still coming and going from the property each day as enquiries to establish the wider circumstances of the death continue. No further details have yet been released. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr18HsWmm9s
