Police have cordoned off a residential street in Shanklin this lunchtime (Wednesday) following the discovery of a body inside a property. Emergency services rushed to Scinde Crescent shortly before 11:00 this morning with a doctor, critical care paramedic and an ambulance crew mobilised, alongside a fire engine and multiple Police units. It is understood that it is inside a residential address that the body of a male has been discovered. The entire street has been cordoned off as detectives from Newport CID begin their investigations into the circumstances of the sudden death. Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has been approached for a statement.
UPDATE @ 17:08 – Police have confirmed that the body of a male has been located at an address on Scinde Crescent. It’s said that concerns for a male’s welfare were raised at 09:16 this morning. A spokesperson for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has said:
”We remain at the location and our enquiries into the circumstances of the death are ongoing”.
