Firefighters from Newport and Cowes have tackled a refrigerator fire at a property in Cowes tonight (Tuesday).
2 appliances were mobilised at 19:52 when a homeowner was alerted to a fire within their property on Newport Road – all thanks to working smoke alarms. The occupant then alerted the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service by dialling 999.
Crews quickly arrived on scene to discover a smoke logged utility room and identified the cause as the refrigerator. The fire was already out, however firefighters safely removed the appliance.
